Nowadays, every web site designer wants to make his sites equipped with search engine friendly elements so that they rank higher in online searches. The same holds true for the blog websites. It is true that the content is the distinguishing factor for a blog website, but a blog website needs effective SEO implantation to attract the targeted viewers. Without quality SEO implementation, the blog sites designed by a website design company will not get high ranking by the top search engines.

The bloggers need to be aware of the effective SEO methods that can attract higher visitors to a blog site fast. The blogs posted in the sites should have keywords placed strategically. The title tag needs to have the primary keyword. The search engine crawlers may overlook the images used in a blog site, but it will check the text descriptions for sure. The bloggers need to make use of keyword rich links in their sites to get rated higher by search engines. The keyword density should not be too high in a blog as it may not be liked by the viewers. Lack of keywords on the other hand, may be ignored by the search engine bots.

The blog websites should have links to websites with similar and relevant content to get higher ranking from the search engines. For instance, a blog on marine wildlife should have links to the authentic websites on flora and fauna. Link building should be done carefully and it does need time. However, linking a blog site with other websites that do not have relevant content is not going to help a web designer.

It is true that different search engines use different algorithms to rank the websites. However, a blog website owner can expect his site to get better ranking if he ensures that the blog site gets updated with new posts on a regular basis. This is because, irrespective of the search algorithm, the search engines prefer websites with fresh content. Using a SEO friendly CMS like Joomla or WordPress to design the blog site would be a good idea for SEO optimization as well. The blog site owner should allow the viewers to post their comments and provide the option in the site. Automated pinging and RSS feeds also need to be provided for the same reason. The blog website should also have links to popular social media websites.

Search engines are the mediums that drive potential clients to your website. But in order for web users to reach you, your website needs to give them specific and clear signs that will drive them directly to your site. You can do this by coming up with carefully selected keywords. Find the exact words or phrases and tons of traffic will be directed to your site. But if you choose keywords that are too over-used or too general, there is a reduced likelihood that visitors will make it to your site.

Your keywords are the most important aspect of your marketing plan. If they are not selected with great accuracy, regardless of your marketing efforts, the right people might not have a chance of finding out about it. Therefore, the first step in your strategy is to collect and weigh up keywords and phrases.

You probably imagine that you already know the right words to use in your search phrases. However, if you have not followed certain steps, chances are that you are wrong.

Consult your potential customers

You should be able to think from the perspective of your customers. You stand a better chance of success by going straight to the source. Instead of cracking your head to come up with a list of search words or phrases, get ideas by talking to as many potential customers as possible. You are likely to find that your customer has a very different understanding of your business. The consumer is a valuable resource. You will realize the words you collect from them are words or phrases you might have never considered. Once you have collected many words from outside sources, you can then add your own words to the list.

Evaluation

The goal of evaluation is to reduce your list to a lower number of words that will drive the greatest number of relevant visitors to your site. These are visitors that are likely to purchase your product, rather than just browsing through your website and leaving. In assessing the effectiveness of keywords, keep in mind three elements: specificity, popularity and motivation. Popularity is the best way to evaluate since it’s an objective quality. If your keyword is popular, there is a high likelihood that someone will type it into a search engine and come across your URL.

Popularity is not enough to decide that a keyword is a good choice. You need to factor in the next criterion, which is specificity. If your keyword is very specific, there is a higher possibility that a consumer ready to buy your services or goods will find you.

Consumer motivation also requires you to think from the customer’s perspective so as to understand what motivates a person searching for a particular service or product to type in a specific word.

Once you have selected your keywords, the work is not finished. You must consistently assess performance across various search engines, considering that trends and times change. Some tools have been created to help you evaluate the effectiveness of keywords in various search engines. There is even software that analyses consumer traffic in relation to consumer behavior. This will enable you to judge which keywords and phrases should be used in your promotion to bring the most valuable customers your way.

Search engine marketing has nothing to do with trying to fool or manipulate the search engines. Good SEO skills are about creating genuine relevance for quality content that is useful to your readers. The following are optimization tips that can drive more traffic to your site.

1.Write content that your target audience has been searching for in the last 90 days

True keyword research is about researching actual data, not just guessing at keywords. The internet offers several keyword research tools including Keyword Discovery and Wordtracker. Besides traditional keyword research, one could also make use of into ‘Keyword Forensics’ to tap into the niche trends which most webmasters never notice.

2. Does your web content address your reader or is it focused on yourself?

Keep in mind that your web content should focus on your readers first and appeal to a specific niche. When writing web content, you need to speak in an appropriate format and tone for the right audience. Your content will have more appeal if it addresses your readers in terms of ‘you’. You might, you can, you will, yours instead of ours, we, we can, we will etc.

3. Write for your human audience first and let search engines come second

Whereas search engine optimization is vital for your visibility, start by writing your content. Many people don’t write well when trying to create content and optimize at the same time. Focus on writing useful content that is focused on one subject per page. When you are pleased with your writing, then go ahead and do minor editing for the search engines.

4. Tips for stimulating idea generation and producing unique strategies

While many people spend too much time examining their competitor’s websites, it is advisable to be at the forefront of creating new ideas. Instead of focusing too much on what your competitors are doing, be creative and begin your own trends. Spend more time on your own projects. Distinguishing yourself from your competition gives you a great advantage.

5. Create content that addresses a specific audience

Always keep in mind your specific audience. For example, the tone and format of writing to senior citizens may differ greatly from writing for new mothers. Before writing, ask yourself ‘What is useful to these readers?’ Always depend on accurately researched data and eliminate guess work.

6. Remember firm calls to action

Without a strong call to action, you cannot expect your reader to guess what they are expected to do next. Usually, plain ordinary dialog that suggests that the reader takes some action works best.

7. Give your readers a good reason to respond immediately

The objective of your web page should not always be about selling a service or product. It needs to be more about the needs of the web visitor. Meet the needs of the visitors first, and then give them a good reason to respond to you. Make your site a tool for relationship building and encourage your visitors to participate.

Reaching Out To Potential Users or Good SEO Ranking: Which Is More Important in Website Design?

When talking about website design, SEO is an indispensable part that needs to be considered with proper importance. Just having a website that does not satisfy the ultimate objective of marketing and advertising makes it a complete waste of money. This is where SEO strategies come to help and allows your company to enjoy a better ranking in the search engines.

Many a times it is seen that there are websites which may not have solid SEO tactics to depend on, but they exhibit good performance in search engines. Hence the question remains: Is it compulsory for a website to depend on SEO tactics to have a truly good performance? Here we will be discussing on this topic to decide whether SEO makes a compulsory part of website design.

Talking about SEO techniques, we commonly think of the strategies and practices that are used to take your website to a top ranking position in search engine browsers. To achieve this objective, sometimes professionals exploit the loop holes of search engine rules to secure an effective return. To make the website easily searchable, various keywords are implemented in the content that are more searched by users. With the focus of making the website more SEO friendly, it sometimes happens that the content gets hampered due to over use of keywords.

Just securing a good search engine ranking is not your guarantee of having more customers. While your website might enjoy good traffic flow, it may include a lot of bounce visitors who ultimately do not prove to be beneficial for your business. Hence it is important that you reach out to more potential customers rather than focusing blindly on achieving a good SEO ranking.

If you wish to win the race in an effective and beneficial way, it is important that you take more consideration in creating an overall good website, rather than trying to bank on the loopholes of search engine optimization algorithms.

There are many website design companies that are well versed about the professional techniques that can help you enjoy a comprehensive solution. Watch your business grow as you depend on a reliable website design company Australia to avail the best web support.

Webguru Infosystems which is a leading Website development Company in Australia that offers website design, graphic design, logo design, flash design and SEO services.

If you’re new to the SEO world, and you’re trying to learn the ropes, you’re going to find that everything seems overwhelming at first. While there is a lot to learn, it’s like anything in life and once you master it, it will feel as if it’s getting easier!

I’ve been doing SEO for a few years now, and I wanted to show you what I have used that worked the best for me. By following some of these tips, you will find that you will be able to raise your website from nothing to something.

Know how to do the proper keyword research

Your website is going to have a topic of some sort, and since you don’t want to just pick out any keyword that is out there, you’re going to want to choose one that works the best for you. You’re going to want to find one that not only draws traffic, but isn’t too competitive. Some tools that you will want to look into are Market Samurai, the Google Keyword Tool, as well as few others such as SEO Book.

For example, if you have a site on fishing, while you may want to go for the grand daddy keyword, “fishing”, you will want to focus on smaller keywords that draw traffic such as “fishing guides”, or “fishing reels”, etc.

Optimize your page for the best results

When you create a website, you’re going to want to treat each and every page like its own website. You’re going to want to make sure that you write for the users, rather than the search engines. While search engines such as Google become more sophisticated, you’re going to want to make sure that focus on the overall topic, rather than spamming your pay with nothing but keywords.

Make sure that your title page targets your main keywords.

Make sure that you research each page when it comes to keywords.

Make sure that your site has a fantastic navigation structure.

Gather links to the page

One of the most important factors when it comes to SEO is the backlinks. If you don’t have the backlinks, the search engines aren’t going to know about you. There are many ways to gather backlinks, but you will want to realize that great content gets the most links. Listed below are ways you can get links:

Guest posting

Blog Commenting

Forum Links

Emailing websites in your niche (make sure you have something good)

Submit a press release

Submit your articles to directories

Submit to directories

Links, as well as great content is a great way to get your site exposed with search engines. While you’re not going to rank overnight, you’re going to find that it may take a year or so to see some great traffic. As long as you stick with it, great things will come because it really does pay off in the end.

You can’t swing a mouse round the net these days without hitting a million articles, blogs, stories all about people telling you how to SEO and get your site found in Google and various other search engines. If you’re smart and know what you’re doing and you’ve got the time to invest in it then it can be an incredibly powerful tool to power your business online. Unfortunately SEO can be time consuming, it takes a long time to learn it all and it takes a while to start seeing some positive results and by the time you have learnt everything enough has changed so that you have to learn it all over again.

If you want to start seeing some serious traffic flowing through your site for the right key phrases you could always try pay per click (PPC) advertising. This follows a lot of the same strict rules as SEO with one major difference, if you’re wrong you’re wrong and you know about it straight away. It’s quicker to learn and it’s quicker to manage than SEO and you have much more control.

So let’s start at the beginning, what is PPC? Well pay per click is when you pay every time someone clicks on your ad.

The majority of queries you type into your search engine will return a list of websites down the left hand side (which are the organic listings) and on the right hand side, and often the top couple of results on the left, you’ll see the PPC ads. These will have the heading ‘ads’ and the top results on the left will appear in a very pale pink box. These are where your ads are going to appear if you manage you PPC properly.

So how exactly does PPC work? You say you’re prepared to pay up to x amount of money every time someone clicks on your ad after searching for that key term. This amount you’re prepared to pay is your bid. If your bid is more than everyone else’s bid on that key term your ad will appear in the top position. You then actually end up paying just above the person appearing at position two. Of course you don’t actually know how much the other people are bidding which is where you need to use your common sense.

If you’re putting in a bid of ten pence on the key phrase ‘green widgets’ and you’re appearing at position one, you know the other people appearing underneath you are bidding less than ten pence. If you’re then being charged ten pence every time someone does click on your ad you know the ads at positions two, three, four etc are biding just under ten pence. If you’re only being charged five pence you know they’re only bidding around five pence and you can lower your bid (you don’t want to promise to have to pay any more money than you have to). If you’re bidding ten pence and you’re only appearing at position three you know the two people above you are bidding more and you need to increase your bid if you want to out rank them.

In this instance you might think you could just enter a bid of several pounds if you’re only going to be charged the amount the nearest bidder is paying but this isn’t going to work. Your bid is what you’re saying you’re prepared to pay. If someone suddenly came along and was able to out bid you can you really afford to start paying this new amount every time someone clicks on your ad?

If you’re a smaller business you’re also going to have to consider your budget. If the term ‘green widget’ is being searched for thousands of times a day and all your other key terms are also being searched for thousands of times a day, are you going to be able to afford to pay if someone clicks on your ad every single search? This is one of the scenarios Google works on when it calculates how often your ad shows. The more accurately you manage your bid the more potential your ads have to appear. If you only have £10 to spend each day and your average cost every time someone clicks on your ad is 10p, your ads are only going to be shown an average of 100 times that day. This means they’re not going to show every time someone does a search for your key term. You always set how much you’re prepared to spend each day and you’re never charged more than that amount.

If you’ve been looking into SEO then you’ve probably heard of the Google algorithm, it’s what decides where websites appear in the search engines based on hundreds of different factors. Google has its own mini version of this for its PPC platform called the Quality Score. The Quality Score is what’s going to have the most impact on where your ads appear and how much you actually pay for them. There are lots of different factors to the quality score which include things like how relevant your keywords are to the landing page, how well your campaign is managed, historical performance of that campaign, the copy of your actual ad text. There are in fact over a hundred different factors that will affect your quality score which will all in turn impact how much you do actually end up paying every time some one clicks on one of your ads.

This is a very simplistic explanation of bid management and the best way to learn is to jump in and have a go yourself. If you are going to invest in some PPC advertising remember it can become very costly especially if you’re looking at it as a long term solution so don’t overlook SEO completely.

If you’re a successful blogger, these tips may be known to you. For anyone new in the blogging department, there are many tips available to help bring in new followers. To help your blog grow, you should be aware of the methods to draw in readers.

List things. Readers who are looking for something to randomly read are more likely to click on a list than an article-style blog. Lists are simple to follow and easy to overview before reading the full blog.

Start your blogs with interesting pictures, and don’t be afraid to include more than one. We are a visual people and our attention is grabbed by interesting images. Bright colors, a unique view point, expressive people, and cool advertisements can draw in readers’ attention.

Take time to think of a good headline. Nobody is going to read your post if your headline is dull. Readers base their clicking decisions purely on the headlines they see. Set yourself apart from the typical blogger. Make your headlines funny, sarcastic, politically incorrect, exciting, shocking, and anything else that would grab someone’s attention. Also remember to play to your audience. Studies have shown that headlines with numbers get up to 20% more hits than those without.

Include topics that interest the general public, even if they aren’t exactly the topic of your blog. Sure you want your readers to be interested in your blog, but in order to gain new followers you may need to reach outside of your interests. Food, sports and entertainment are hobbies for almost 100% of the public. You are sure to capture a few extra followers by highlighting one of these topics. But please, keep in mind that this is not a good thing to do frequently. If you venture away from your subject matter too often, you may lose avid readers and followers. Just a few times a year might be a nice change up. Major events are fine to mention, but be careful not to overdo it.

Include in your blog something to brighten a reader’s day. Whether it is humor, an interesting piece of news, or an encouraging statement, any enticing bit of information can bring readers in and keep them interested. If you offer something that a reader likes, they are more likely to revisit your blog at least once. It is also a good idea to keep this enticing piece at the top of your page or in bold font. This way, it won’t be missed by people who just skim over blogs.

“I don’t know how to sell applications”

Joe is a developer. He knows programming well and he decided to create his own software which will make him famous and rich. He spent a year creating the IPhone application which allows people to purchase the food for theirs Siamese cats. He uploaded newly created application to the Apple store and now he is waiting for the customers. For some reason they don’t come to his page in Apple. Joe is starting to realize that the he does not have enough knowledge about selling the software…

The Problem

Joe is a smart guy and he can develop good applications. Unfortunately skills and a knowledge required for marketing are not the same skills required for applications development.

Won’t it be nice if there will be an ability to predict the popularity of the tool?

Below is a description of the process that allows you knowing exactly

What IPhone application to develop?

What your competitors are?

And what is the progress?

Without spending a year on writing the actual application.

Step 1: Choose the Application You Will Create

The application Joe chooses is ‘Calorie Counter for IPhone’. Joe wants to check how many users actually need this application. To gather this data

Joe creates an account at Ad Words and goes to ‘Keyword Tool’.

Enters ‘iphone calorie counter’.

Ad Words says that 320 users enter the keywords monthly.

Now Joe needs to somehow estimate how many users will come to his IPhone Calorie Counter site. To estimate the number of users he utilizes the following table.

#1 Position In Search Results

42% of clicks

#2 Position In Search Results

12% of clicks

#3 Position In Search Results

8% of clicks

#4 Position In Search Results

6% of clicks

#5 Position In Search Results

5% of clicks

#6 Position In Search Results

4% of clicks

#7 Position In Search Results

3% of clicks

The table above means the following:

Assuming that you site is at #1 position in Google Search Results for ‘iphone calorie counter’ keyword, the result number of users can be calculated the following way:

320 (overall number of users per month) * 42% = 134 users per month

Joe thinks that it will be a good experience to convert 134 users to his customers.

Step 2: Check the Competition

OK, now when the application is selected Joe wants to know the answer for the question “Are there other people who will also create similar applications?” If yes – “will it possible for me to get to the top in the search results?”

To answer the question Joe

Starts ‘keyword analysis research’ tool:

Enters ‘iphone calorie counter’

Gets the table below:

The application analyses the following sites’ parameters:

Page Rank

Pages with a higher rank appear higher in the search results.

Backlinks number.

Pages with a larger number of backlinks appear higher in the search results.

Keywords in URL

The parameter shows how good the page is SEO optimized. Good optimized pages tend to have the keywords in the URL.

Keywords in Title

The parameter shows how good the page is SEO optimized. Good optimized pages tend to have the keywords in the Title.

The number of red squares is not large which means that the competitors in the selected area are weak. So Joe decides to stick with the idea of Iphone Calorie Counter application.

Step 3: Sell First

The important part here is to inhibit the desire to start writing the code. The analysis is a good thing, but things tend to change in time so selling the software before it is created is an absolute ‘must’ in software engineering. To sell the software

Joe searches for a cheap hosting and registers domain IphoneCalorieCounter.com

He installs Word Press and purchases one of the Word Press themes.

He installs Google Analytics.

He creates Google Ads and configures them the way so they appear when users enter ‘iphone calorie counter’ keywords.

And then he incorporates the button ‘Buy Now’ in the pages.

For many of you the idea of selling the software before the actual creation might sound like a shock, but still it is the only way to know exactly how many customers your software can attract.

Step 4: SEO

As you might know, the backlinks placed at other sites to your site are the ‘vote’ which show to Google or Bing how good is your site. That’s why gathering the backlinks is essential part of the marketing process. Joe wants to re-utilize the experience of his competitors and goes to ‘keyword analysis research’:

He selects one of the competitors and clicks ‘analyze links’.

The list below contains the sites that have a links to the competitor’s pages.

Joe contacts the site owners and asks them to incorporate the links to his pages in their pages (note: many site owners are glad to incorporate the links to your site if you create a guest post for them. For more information on the guest blogging please refer to the following article)

The next step is to the progress of the SEO campaign. Unfortunately when you start the site – the results are not immediately visible. Your site might going from 85th to 20th position (which means that your efforts get your site in the right direction), but the site still has no visitors as they don’t find it in search results. You need to have an ability to monitor this process and here comes Google SERP Checker:

In Google SERP Checker Joe enters the following keywords

Iphone Calorie Counter

Iphone Diet

Calorie Counter

…and configures the application so it sends the reports to his email.

Final Step: Creation

The final part of the process is actual creation. At this time Joe

Selected the application.

Promoted his site.

And even got some feedback from the customers of non-existing product.

He is ready to create the product and he knows for sure that it will be purchased by the users.

Summary

It can be very hard for developers to select the proper application and find the market for them as they think that the process is very creative and unpredictable.

Fortunately it is not the case.

The process of software creation has very straight rules and operations which brings your software to success.
Follow them and eventually you will share my opinion.

I am a huge fan of Market Samurai application and I have just realized that Easy SEO Tracking is actually a good alternative to the Market Samurai.

My favorite applications are

Rank Tracker

The tool is for the users who want to know the positions of their pages in the search results.

For example

My site is at the first place when users enter ‘Easy SEO Tracking’ keywords’ (see below).

SEO Competition

SEO tool for the users that consider creating the sites or pages for the specific niche.

Example

I want to make a credit card related business. The users will come to my site by entering ‘credit card’ keywords in Google. Before I spent hundreds of dollars on the pages content, design and things like that I want to make sure that once the work is perfomed – my efforts will be rewarded (i. e. site will appear at the first positions in search results).

I go to ‘SEO Competition’ section of Market Samurai and perform the analysis procedure. Once it is done – the application provides me with the estimate on how it will be difficult to achieve the result. The tool takes into consideration the following parameters of your competitors’ sites.

Page Rank

Backlinks Number

Domain Age

Are Keywords In The Page Title?

Are Keywords In URL?

The screenshot below is a real-world example of results generated by SEO Competition Tool for the ‘credit cards’ keywords.

It seems that in order to move forward in this industry I need to either

Obtain PR7, thousands of backlinks and things like that

or

Choose another set of keywords.

Market Samurai Alternative

I totally recommend Market Samurai for everyday using, but as every other solution – it has some disadvantages. The main disadvantages of Market Samurai are

Price
Currently the cost of application is $149.00.

Desktop
You need to install application at your personal machine before start using it. It might no be appropriate for most of the users who want to access their data from home, work and iPhone.

We glad to inform you that our service is an alternative to the Market Samurai application. It provides you with most crucial pieces of the application for
$9.95 only.

Rank Tracker Alternative

Google SERP Checker
is a perfect alternative to the Rank Tracker. After creating the account you can track your SERPs and get information on the current and previous position in Google:

SEO Competition Alternative

Niche Analysis Tool
provides you with analytical information on your competitors. It also reverse engineer their backlinks so you can found out what sites provide reputation score for them. Below results for the ’siamesse cats’ keywords:

Try the tools above and let me know if they were helpful for you!
